Estimates start from public property assessment data published by Statistics Canada, adjusted for current market conditions using monthly market statistics from local real estate boards and national sources. City pages show the same estimates by property type and size. We review the data every month and show the date on each page.

An estimate is not an appraisal. It describes an area and a type of property, and it can differ from the real value of a particular home. Please read our terms and get professional advice before you buy, sell or finance a property.

Our guides explain topics such as closing costs, mortgage rates and land transfer tax in plain language. We cite our sources, date the pages and update the ones that depend on current figures, such as the Bank of Canada interest rate. If you spot a mistake, tell us and we will check it and fix it.

We are not a real estate brokerage, a lender, a mortgage broker or an appraiser, and nothing on this site is financial, legal or tax advice. We do not sell your information. Our privacy policy explains what we collect and why.
